Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Framer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in interpreting blueprints and drawings, a strong understanding of building codes, and a meticulous approach to building frameworks for various structures. This role involves working with wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create durable foundations, walls, and roofs, as well as installing interior trim elements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Reading & Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications and calculate necessary materials and measurements.
- Layout Preparation: Use measuring tools to prepare accurate layouts that comply with building codes and design requirements.
- Material Handling & Shaping: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials as needed for each project.
- Framework Construction: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems according to the structural plans.
- Trim Installation: Fit and install finishing elements like doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware to complete the structural frame.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Framer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Proficient in using measuring and layout tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Excellent physical strength, stamina, and manual dexterity.
